Q and A

So, apparently I leave for this "Korea" place in a week...

With that in mind, I think I'm going to dedicate this week to a little Q&A.

But, I'm not expecting questions from anybody, so I guess I will have to make up my own!

I mean, I could just write posts about random things...but putting everything in the framework of a question is so much more...sophisticated...yes...perhaps...not.

Anyway, I'll try to post something up tomorrow. If you do actually have any questions about what my motivations for going to or thoughts about Korea are, feel free to ask. Just keep in mind that I'm not actually in Korea yet, so I can't really say much about the country itself. I can only really talk about my expectations and stuff like that.

And make sure to play nice!

How do you feel about the interplay between interlocking asian antagonisms or racism (korea-japan, china-korea, china-japan) and the expending media markets (for example, korean soaps being the most popular shows in coastal China)?

Oh, and of course. What do you feel will be your greatest challenge and limitation?

I actually managed to find your blog through the tubes of the internet, and I was really curious how you wound up with Daejeon as where you would wind up. I'm trying to go to Korea in October, and I'm on the fence if I should try to hold out for Seoul or be open to landing in other parts of the country.

I've never been abroad, and part of my thinking is that Seoul being a multi-cultural city might be easier to adjust to than other places. That being said, I've been told by my recruiter that its competitive out there with the economy back here in the States and it might be harder to go to Seoul than other cities.

Was there something about Daejeon that drew you? Was it simply a matter of finding any job in Korea that fit?

Thanks, and I look forward to reading the blog.

Hi Henry
Love the blog....Have you had a chance to explore any of the city much? Do you need anything from home for school??
Have you met people to hang out with yet?
