So, I just tried sending a text in Korean for the first time. Hopefully the first of many.

Actually, it was only half in Korean...but close enough, right?

Anyway, that's all, I just wanted to note the event for myself, but I guess you all get to hear about it to!

dude! you've only been in Korea a couple of weeks more than me, so how did you manage to do that already?

I just went to my first Korean class Saturday and am still trying to learn the alphabet.

Probably not the answer you're looking for, but I'd say I managed to do it very badly! Let's just say it didn't work out so great once I actually had to try and comprehend a response.

But in all seriousness, I studied hangul (the Korean alphabet) before I came here, and I've been studying grammar and stuff in my free time since I've been here. And I used some textbooks and stuff to make a semi-coherent message. It took awhile, but it was good practice I think.

Well, you're a lot further along than I am. I'm just learning the alphabet at this point.
